Angels Unawares
The documentary revolves around a sculpture called "Angels Unawares" by Timothy Schmalz. The statue has sat in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican since September 29, 2019, the 105th World Migrant and Refugee Day. A replica of this statue toured the United States in 2022 inspiring migrants around the country and reminding them of their own stories of how they themselves migrated. In Angels Unawares you will hear stories from migrants and how they made the journey of leaving their home country. You will also hear from the sculptor, migrants, Bishops, Cardinals, and priests on the sculpture and what it represents and means.
