Catholic Focus - Journey of the Cross   
Ten years after World Youth Day Toronto, the students of Neil McNeil Catholic Secondary have built another cross. Known as the "Witness to Faith Cross," it is travelling to all the schools in the Toronto Catholic District School board during the 2011-2012 academic year. An affirmation of faith amidst mounting political pressure to end government funding for Catholic schools in Ontario. The Board hopes that by bearing witness, young Catholics will come to a fuller understanding of the role of faith in their lives and in the life of our society as a whole. Join host Sebastian Gomes as he follows the travelling cross and sheds light on the challenges of witnessing to faith for Catholic education in Ontario today.

Witness - Alicia Ambrosio   
Originally from Vancouver, Alicia Ambrosio's life is a map of the northern hemisphere. In 2004, Alicia moved to Rome and completed her graduate studies at the Salesian Pontifical University and trained with Catholic News Service in their Rome bureau. She moved back to Canada in 2007, and worked with Catholic press in various cities. In 2008, Alicia joined the S+L team in Toronto, bringing with her a love for all things Vatican and global affairs. In addition to this, Alicia has served as a Vatican correspondent for S+L, and worked in Madrid, Spain for World Youth Day 2011. Alicia is our very own "Vaticanista". As a producer, Alicia manages the broadcast team for our daily current affairs show, Perspectives, provides live coverage of Papal events, and Apostolic Voyages. Since 2012 Alicia has been producing and hosting our flagship program Vatican Connections, which is a weekly review of what's been happening at the heart of the Church. Like Pope Francis, she comes from an Italian - Argentine family. She is newly married to Carlos Ferreira, originally from Portugal, who is the "Relationship Manager" in our Marketing Department at Salt and Light. The two met working at World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid... no better way to begin a relationship than at a World Youth Day!
